Naches, WA. – Four people were hospitalized after being injured in a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Naches.

The collision happened at the intersection of West Naches Road and U.S. Highway 12 at around 12:50 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.

82-year-old Joyce Vandenburgh, of Yakima, was driving a white 2021 Toyota Venza when she failed to yield the right of way while turning onto Highway 2 and collided with a black 1994 Ford F-350 pickup truck operated by 18-year-old Mayli Martinez of Prosser.

Joyce and her passenger, 82-year-old Roy Vandenburgh, also of Yakima, were injured in the accident and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Martinez and a passenger identified as 19-year-old Julian Rivera of Sunnyside were also hospitalized with the police.

Two other passengers in the pickup truck, 20-year-old Mateo Armendariz of Othello and 20-year-old Cesar Figueroa of Grandview, were not injured.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
