4 Hurt After Crash Involving Ambulance at OBT and SR-414 in Orange County

Police said the Apopka Fire Department ambulance was traveling south on OBT with its emergency lights and sirens on and entered the intersection at SR-414. At the same time, a 2015 Ford F-250 was heading west on SR-414 towards OBT and entered the junction on a green traffic light.

4 Sustains Injuries After Ambulance Crash at OBT and SR-414

Apopka, FL.- Four persons were hurt following a traffic collision on Wednesday morning near Apopka in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash occurred at about 6:00 a.m. on July 9, on Orange Blossom Trail at State Road 414.

Police said the Apopka Fire Department ambulance was traveling south on OBT with its emergency lights and sirens on and entered the intersection at SR-414. At the same time, a 2015 Ford F-250 was heading west on SR-414 towards OBT and entered the junction on a green traffic light.

The ambulance hit the right side of the pickup truck which rolled and hit a 2024 Toyota RAV4.

A 26-year-old man driving the ambulance, his passenger, a 25-year-old man, and a patient, a 78-year-old Apopka woman, were hospitalized with minor injuries.

The Ford F-250 driver, a 52-year-old Kissimmee man, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The RAV4, a 57-year-old Apopka woman, did not suffer injuries and stayed at the scene.

Eastbound Apopka Boulevard was blocked but later reopened.

An investigation is underway.
