Orlando, FL – A man has been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run accident that left a bicyclist dead on Monday in Orlando, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Jermaine Williams, 42, of Eustis, was arrested and booked into the Orange County jail on charges of leaving a crash involving death.

The deadly accident happened around 9:19 a.m., July 7, at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and 43rd Street.

FHP said Daiken Alcime, 43, was riding his bicycle across the intersection in a marked crosswalk when a dark colored pick-up truck ran a stop sign, hit and ran over him.

The suspect, Williams, turned himself in to the authorities on Monday afternoon. He was arrested, charged, and booked into jail.
