Fairmount, IN. – 54-year-old Linda Cox was killed in a car crash that left five other people injured in Fairmount on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of county roads 1900 North and 200 West.

Rebecca Madley, 34, was driving an SUV on 1900 North when she collided with a red pickup truck after it failed to stop at the intersection and pulled out in front of her.

Cox was driving the pickup truck and was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

Madley was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis in critical condition. Her daughters, 13 and 10, were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Brandon Pollard, 39, and Emily McBroom, 31, were riding in the truck and were riding in the pickup truck and were airlifted to the hospital for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
