1 Killed, 2 Others Injured After Indianapolis Car Crash at East 30th Street and North Post

Indianapolis, IN. – One person was killed and two others were hurt following a two-vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

The accident happened at about 4:45 p.m. at East 30th Street and North Post Road.

Police said two vehicles crashed for reasons still under investigation. 

Authorities believed one driver was trying to make a left turn from southbound Post Road to eastbound 30th Street and the second car was heading northbound on Post Road. The two vehicles ultimately crashed.

One of the cars had two people inside, an adult female and a male driver. The two were taken to the hospital. The female died at the hospital while the driver was hospitalized with critical injuries.

The second vehicle had only the driver as the occupant. The male motorist was hospitalized with injuries.

Police blocked the intersection for several hours to give way to a clearing operation and an on-scene investigation.

The roadway was reopened at around 8:25 p.m.

An investigation is underway.
