Troopers confirmed a vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a palm tree in a grassy ditch.

Miami Gardens, FL. – A driver was killed and a passenger critically injured following a single-vehicle collision on Sunday in Miami-Gardens, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident happened on June 29 on Interstate 95, near Ives Dairy Road.
Troopers confirmed a vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a palm tree in a grassy ditch.
Footage from the scene reportedly showed a damaged black car on the roadside and investigators securing the area with police tapes.
The car driver was declared dead at the crash site and a passenger sustained critical injuries. The patient was rushed to Aventura Hospital where they were listed in a critical condition.
The names of the victims were not immediately released.
An investigation is underway.
