Yuma, AZ – A man was taken to a hospital following a motorcycle collision in Yuma on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Yuma Police Department.

The incident took place on W. 32nd Street and S. 8th Avenue at about 3 p.m.

A 59-year-old woman behind the wheel of a Mazda was heading west on 32nd Street when she tried to turn left onto S. 8th Avenue and collided with a Yamaha motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 37-year-old man, sustained major injuries and was rushed to Onvida Health.

The police reported that the driver of the Mazda was suspected of impairment while the motorcyclist was believed to have been traveling at a high rate of speed.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
