Man and Woman Killed in Crash on Turnpike in Homestead, Miami-Dade County

Authorities confirmed, a white sedan failed to negotiate a curve on the ramp, went off the roadway, and hit a tree before overturning.

Homestead, FL. – A man and a woman were killed following a traffic collision on Wednesday morning in Homestead, Miami-Dade County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on the on the exit ramp from southbound Florida’s Turnpike to Southwest 312th Street, also known as Campbell Drive a while after 9:00 a.m. June 18.

Authorities confirmed, a white sedan failed to negotiate a curve on the ramp, went off the roadway, and hit a tree before overturning.  

Two persons in the white sedan, a black man and woman, were killed in the collision.

Their names were not immediately released.

Police said the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue also assisted at the scene.

The southbound lanes of the turnpike were closed and drivers asked to look for alternate routes following the collision.

An investigation is underway.
