Las Vegas, NV. – Two persons were injured following a big rig collision on Monday morning in Las Vegas, according to the Nevada State Police.
The accident occurred at around 5:40 a.m. on June 16, on I-15 near Speedway Boulevard,
Police said two semi-truck trailers were involved in the collision. One of the semis, jack-knifed and then burst into flames.
Authorities closed northbound I-15 as a result of the large fire caused by the collision.
One person was rushed to an area hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
A second person was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities closed all northbound lanes at mile marker 54 but lanes have since reopened.
Police said clearing and road repairs operations to continue into Tuesday morning
An investigation is ongoing.
