Authorities said a box truck was traveling northbound when, for unknown reasons, it veered off the road, overcorrected and swerved into oncoming vehicles. The truck then crashed head-on into an SUV.

Evansville, IN. – A woman was killed following a box truck crash earlier Monday afternoon in Evansville, Vanderburgh County.
According to the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office, the accident happened at 3:25 p.m. on N. St. Joseph Avenue near the landfill in the area of Wimberg and Mohr Roads.
Authorities said a box truck was traveling northbound when for unknown reasons it veered off the road, overcorrected and swerved into oncoming vehicles. The truck then crashed head-on into an SUV.
The female SUV driver was declared dead at the scene.
A small child in the SUV was secured in a car seat and was not injured in the crash.
The name of the woman was not immediately released.
Deputies conducted a chemical test on the box truck driver.
An investigation is underway.
