The van driver was taken to Ascension Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

Aurora Township, IL. – Samson Isom, 42, has been identified as the pedestrian who died after being struck by a van in Aurora Township early Monday.
According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of Farnsworth Avenue and Summit Avenue.
A white 2017 GMC work van was heading southbound on Farnsworth Avenue when it hit the man.
Isom, a resident of Aurora, was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center where he later died.
The 36-year-old Aurora man driving the van was taken to Ascension Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
