Joshua Risby Garcia Killed in Motorcycle Accident at U.S. 1 near Nasa Boulevard in Melbourne

Police confirmed Garcia was riding his motorcycle north on U.S. 1 when he crashed into the driver’s side of a vehicle pulling out of a parking lot.

Melbourne, FL.- Joshua Risby Garcia, 40, of Palm Bay was killed following a motorcycle collision on Wednesday morning in Melbourne, according to the Melbourne Police Department.

The accident happened north of Nasa Boulevard at U.S. 1 a while after 11:20 a.m. May 28.

Police confirmed Garcia was riding his motorcycle north on U.S. 1 when he crashed into the driver’s side of a vehicle pulling out of a parking lot. 81-year-old Kenneth Annalora was trying to turn left when Garcia’s motorcycle hit the driver’s side.

Another rider, identified as Wesley Diffie, 54, of Melbourne as riding behind Garcia. He attempted to avoid the collision but crashed into the front of the vehicle.

Garcia was declared dead at the scene.

Diffie was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Both north and southbound lanes of U.S. 1 were closed for several hours after the crash. The lanes were reopened after 2:00 p.m.

Charges are yet to be charged in this case.

The incident remains under investigation.
