North Vernon, IN. – William L. Rabe, 54, was killed in a head-on collision on Thursday morning in North Vernon.

According to the police, the accident happened around 7:30 a.m. on U.S. 50 near Private Road 125 East.

Rabe was driving a blue Toyota passenger westbound on U.S. 50 when he drifted into the eastbound lane and collided with a tan 2004 Buick passenger car driven by Daniel L. Plumm, 36, of North Vernon.

Rabe was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jennings County Coroner’s Office.

Plumm was taken to Ascension St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon before being transferred to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
