The Jeep driver was attempting to turn left onto northbound Ferndale Road when he collided with the Alfa Romeo.

Deer Park, IL. – One person was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle collision in Deer Park on Sunday morning.

The fatal collision happened around 10:30 a.m., May 18, at the intersection of Lake Cook Road and Ferndale Road.

A 75-year-old Deer Park man was driving a 2025 Jeep Wrangler eastbound on Lake Cook Road while a 71-year-old Mount Prospect man was driving a 1986 Alfa Romero westbound.

The Jeep driver was attempting to turn left onto northbound Ferndale Road when he collided with the Alfa Romeo.

The Romeo driver was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

A passenger in the Romeo, a 63-year-old woman from Mount Prospect, was also taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

The Jeep driver sustained minor injuries and was cooperating with the investigators.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team is conducting the investigation.
