Wickenburg, AZ – One person was killed after two vehicles collided on US Highway near Wickenburg Saturday night, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The deadly crash happened just after 10 p.m. on May 17 near the US 60 and Mockingbird Road.
DPS said a driver was heading eastbound on Highway 60 when, for some reason, they crossed the median and into the oncoming traffic lanes where it collided with a westbound vehicle.
The driver of the oncoming vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name has not been released.
It was not immediately clear if the wrong-way driver will face charges following the fatal collision.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
