A medical helicopter airlifted one person to Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford with critical injuries

Hampshire, IL. – Four people were injured in a head-on collision on Wednesday evening in Hampshire Township.
According to the Hampshire Fire Protection District, the accident happened near Route 72 and Engel Road at around 4 p.m.
Two vehicles reportedly collided head-on in unclear circumstances.
A third vehicle was also involved in the accident.

Two victims were taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin with serious injuries.
A fourth person was transported to Northwestern Hospital in DeKalb in unknown condition.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
