Salkum, Washington (May 13, 2025) – A man was injured Sunday morning in a rear-end accident in Salkum, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The accident occurred around 10:45 a.m., May 11, on U.S. Highway 12.

WSP said Jay R. Suitter, 69, of Ethel, was driving eastbound on the highway when he slowed down in preparation to turn left and was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Delila M. Westmoreland, 35, of Mossyrock.

Suitter was airlifted to Tacoma General Hospital for treatment.

Westmoreland and her passenger, Larry D. Lester, 61, of Mossyrock, were uninjured in the crash.

All three individuals were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The authorities are conducting the investigation.
