Merrillville, IN. – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a car on Thursday evening in Merrillville.
According to the Merrillville Police Department, the accident happened on US 30 near Connecticut Street at around 10:40 p.m.
A pedestrian was walking in the area and was struck by a car.
The pedestrian suffered severe head injuries and possible broken bones from the collision. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to a Chicago area hospital.
