According to the Kennewick Police Department, the crash happened in the area of S Washington Street and W 1st Avenue.
A man was driving a sedan at a high rate of speed when he reportedly ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a truck.
The man suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The driver is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and marijuana at the time of the accident and was charged with DUI.
The truck driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.
