Sheila Hipps was transported to the hospital where she later died

Phoenix, AZ. – An elderly woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Sunday morning in Phoenix.
According to the police, the accident happened around 9:45 a.m. in the area of 16th Street near Morten Avenue.
88-year-old Sheila Hipps was walking in the area and was struck by a car.
The woman was transported to the hospital where she later died.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
More details about the accident were not released.
