The fatal accident happened on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 7:07 a.m., on Highway 20 near milepost 4, the State Police said.

Lincoln County, Oregon – One person was killed and two others were injured following a three-vehicle collision that caused one of the cars to catch fire on Highway 20 in Lincoln County, according to Oregon State Police.
The fatal accident happened on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 7:07 a.m., on Highway 20 near milepost 4, the State Police said.
Investigators said a GMC Terrace, operated by 42-year-old Heather Maria Paz Hosey of Newport, was heading eastbound on Highway 20 when it crossed the centerline for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a westbound Dodge Journey, driven by Ruston Lee Thommen, 46, of Halsey.
Upon the impact, the GMC rotated and was hit by a westbound Dodge Dakota, driven by 19-year-old Christian Layfield Sagrero of Newport, The Dakota was driving behind the Dodge Journey.
Authorities said the Dodge Journey burst into flames due to the crash and became fully engulfed in flames.
Maria Hosey suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
Ruston Thommen was able to exit the burning vehicle and was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Christian Sagrero suffered minor injuries and was transported for evaluation.
The highway was impacted for about three hours as crews worked at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
