Mount Vernon, WA. – A man was killed in a collision that left a young woman injured on Saturday, March 22, in Mount Vernon.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the accident happened around 11:15 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5.
A driver reportedly lost control on the highway and crashed into a cable barrier before coming to a stop blocking the second lane.
A second vehicle struck the first car and came to rest in the same lane facing the wrong way and was struck by a third vehicle.
The 39-year-old man driving the second vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
An 18-year-old woman riding in the second car was taken to Skagit Valley Hospital with unknown injuries.
