The trooper had parked in the far right lane to handle a traffic crash when a Chevrolet Impala rear-ended the squad car

Chicago, IL. – An Illinois state trooper was injured in a collision that happened on Monday night in Chicago.
According to the Illinois State Police, the accident happened around 10 p.m. on northbound I-94 near 130th Street.
The trooper had parked in the far right lane with their emergency lights on to handle a traffic crash when a Chevrolet Impala rear-ended the squad car.
The trooper was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 33-year-old driver of the Impala was not injured. He was cited for failure to reduce speed, following too closely and a violation of the Move Over Law.
