North Carolina man killed in collision on I-64 at Mile Marker 64 in Woodlawn
Woodlawn, IL. – One person was killed in a car accident on Friday evening in Woodlawn, Jefferson County.
According to Illinois State Police, the accident happened around 4:27 p.m. along I-64 at mile marker 64.
A 67-year-old man from Charlotte, North Carolina, was driving a semi-truck with a trailer when he collided with another semi-truck with a trailer, driven by a 44-year-old man from Carrigan, Texas.
The second semi-truck then crashed into a passenger vehicle driven by a 58-year-old woman from Marion, Illinois.
The driver of the first truck was killed in the accident.
The name of the victim was not immediately disclosed.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
