Sangamon County, IL – A New Berlin woman who was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Sangamon County on Saturday night has been identified as Maysa Davis, 35.

The Illinois State Police said the accident happened on Highway 72 near the New Berlin exit at about 11:13 p.m. on March 22.

Police reported that Maysa Davis was walking in the area when she was hit by an eastbound vehicle.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The involved driver, identified as Robert. W. Butcher, 65, of Pleasant Plains, fled from the scene after the accident.

Butcher was arrested by the police on March 24.

No additional information regarding the crash was provided.
