Bicyclist killed in collision at County Road 2700E and County Road 100N in Champaign County
Champaign, IL. – An 83-year-old man was killed in a car accident that happened on Thursday afternoon in rural Champaign County.
According to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at the intersection of County Road 2700E and County Road 100N at around 5 p.m., February 6.
An 85-year-old man from rural Broadlands was driving a pickup truck southbound when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck an eastbound pickup truck driven by 83-year-old Junior Evans, from Sidell.
Evans was ejected from the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
