Tucson, AZ – The authorities have released the identities of two men who died in a two-vehicle collision on I-10 in Tucson early Friday morning.

The DPS identified the victims as Mark Albert Irby, 65, and George Melen Roat, 61, both from Tucson.

DPS said Mark Irby was driving an SUV westbound on I-10 when, for some reason, he crossed into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with an eastbound pickup truck operated by George Roat.

Both Irby and Roat were pronounced dead at the scene.

Tucson, AZ – Two drivers were killed when they collided in Tucson on Friday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The deadly crash happened on Interstate 10 near milepost 269 at about 6:48 a.m. March 21.

According to the report, a small sport utility vehicle was traveling west on I-10 when it went across the median and collided with an eastbound pickup truck.

The involved drivers were killed in the accident.

Roads were closed in the area as authorities investigated the incident.

It’s unclear whether impairment was a factor in the collision.
