Kurt Rabanal exited his car after a multi-vehicle collision on I-290 and was hit by a car
Cook County, IL. – 26-year-old Kurt Rabanal died after being struck by a car after a car multi-vehicle collision on Wednesday night near Broadview in Cook County.
According to Illinois State Police, the accident happened around 7 p.m. on February 19, on I-290 near 25th Avenue.
Several vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes of traffic. Rabanal exited a vehicle, crossed over the center median and was fatally struck by a vehicle in the westbound lanes.
Rabanal died at the accident scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The collision resulted in the closure of both directions of I-290 between 25th Street and Mannheim Road, as the scene was cleared.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
