Harristown, IL. – One person was hospitalized after being injured in a car accident on Wednesday, March 12, in Harristown.
According to Illinois State Police, the accident happened on Interstate 72 near milepost 131 at around 3:38 p.m.
A vehicle was attempting to do a U-turn at milepost 131 when it was rear-ended by another car.
The driver of the car that made the U-turn was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the second car was unhurt.
The driver who made the U-turn was cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Improper Lane Usage.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
