Kwiatkowski was transported to Carle Foundation Hospital Emergency Department where he later died
Champaign County, IL. – John K. Kwiatkowski, 57, of Urbana, was killed in a bicycle accident on Sunday evening in Urbana.
The fatal bicycle accident happened on Interstate 74 near milepost 183 at around 8:06 p.m. according to Illinois State Police.
The man was riding a bicycle in the area and was hit by a passenger vehicle.
Kwiatkowski was transported to Carle Foundation Hospital Emergency Department where he later died, according to the Champaign County Coroner’s Office.
The collision resulted in the closure of all lanes of the freeway which were reopened at approximately 1:00 a.m.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
