Indianapolis, IN. – A 9-year-old child was injured after being struck by a car on Thursday evening in Indianapolis.
According to the Indianapolis Metro Police Department, the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Shenandoah Drive and Galeston Drive.
A juvenile bicyclist with injuries was reportedly struck by an SUV in unclear circumstances.
The nine-year-old was transported to an area hospital and listed in stable condition.
The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
IMPD said their preliminary investigation shows impairment is a possible factor in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
