Phoenix, AZ – The Phoenix Police Department has identified a pedestrian who was killed by a hit-and-run driver at a Phoenix intersection late last month.
The Phoenix PD identified the victim as 36-year-old Aaron Hornedo.
The deadly pedestrian accident occurred on February 27 at the intersection of 35th Avenue and Peoria Avenue.
The police said Hornedo was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle operated by Deena Kneece, 19.
Kneece fled the scene after the incident.
Hornedo sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kneece has since been arrested and charged with one count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
The crash remains under investigation and no additional information is available.
