Chicago, IL – One person was killed in a collision involving two vehicles in Chicago’s South Side on Saturday night, according to the Chicago Police Department.
The accident happened just after 10:30 p.m. on March 8, in the 3400 block of West 79th Street.
According to the police, a black sedan was traveling westbound on 79th Street when it collided with a blue hatchback that was also westbound.
The Chicago Fire Department performed life-saving measures on the driver of the sedan but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The victim was only identified as a man in his 40s.
The two occupants of the hatchback fled the scene before police arrived.
The incident is under investigation.
