Lake County, FL – A woman was killed in a wrong-way collision that took place in Lake County early Wednesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident happened on State Road 33, south of County Road 474 at about 12:58 a.m. March 5.
According to FHP, a 2004 GMC Sierra was heading north on southbound S.R. 33 when it collided head-on with a southbound 2007 Hyundai Sonata.
The impact caused the GMC to overturn.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 27-year-old woman, was rushed to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.
The man driving the GMC, a 39-year-old, was rushed to Osceola Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
