Florida Keys, FL – Three people were airlifted after a head-on collision that occurred in the Florida Keys on Monday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The wreck took place on the Seven Mile Bridge at about 2 p.m. on March 3.
According to the report, a GMC Denali pickup was traveling south on the bridge when it made a turn into the northbound side and collided with a BMW SUV.
The two occupants of the BMW, a man and woman, both from Maryland, were extricated and flown to Jackson South Medical Center with major injuries.
The driver of the Denali, a Monroe County man, was also airlifted to the hospital.
The bridge was shut down for nearly two hours as authorities investigated the incident.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
