Angelica Pesqueira-Corrales was taken to the hospital, where she died while receiving treatment

Phoenix, AZ. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car on Wednesday evening in Phoenix.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident happened around 6 p.m. near 34th Avenue and Maricopa Street.
41-year-old Angelica Pesqueira-Corrales was walking in the area and was hit by a car.
The woman was taken to hospital, where she died while receiving treatment.
The driver of the car, 36-year-old Denisse Rodriguez-Cardenas, fled the scene of the accident but was later located and arrested.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
