The 26-year-old driver of the ambulance and a 47-year-old paramedic suffered non-life-threatening injuries
Hillsborough County, FL. – A 64-year-old woman in an ambulance died in a collision with a semi-truck on Friday night in Hillsborough County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 11:35 p.m. on McGee Road at State Route 39.
A Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Ambulance was traveling east on McGee Road when it collided with a semi-truck traveling north on State Road 39.
The impact caused the semi-truck to jackknife onto the shoulder while the ambulance overturned.
The 64-year-old Plant City woman in the ambulance was transported to the hospital where she later died.
The 26-year-old driver of the ambulance and a 47-year-old paramedic suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The semi-truck driver was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
