Las Vegas, NV – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle near a Las Vegas intersection early Wednesday morning, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
The fatal pedestrian collision happened occurred at around 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of Durango Drive and Tropical Parkway
According to the Metropolitan police, a driver in a Honda was traveling southbound on Durango Drive when the vehicle struck a person who walked onto the street, outside of a marked crosswalk.
The pedestrian died in the collision. The victim’s name has not been released pending next of kin notification.
Police said the driver remained at the scene, adding that the driver did not show signs of impairment at the time of the collision.
The accident closed the intersection but has since re-opened.
The incident remains under investigation.
