Man in wheelchair fatally hit by car on Old New York Avenue near Ridgewood Avenue in Volusia County
Volusia County, FL. – A man in a wheelchair died after being struck by a car on Saturday night in Volusia County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 10 p.m. on Old New York Avenue near Ridgewood Avenue.
An 84-year-old DeLand man was in a wheelchair and was crossing Old New York Avenue when he was struck by a 2013 Hyundai Genesis traveling eastbound.
The man was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
