The 80-year-old woman was transported to AdventHealth East Hospital where she later died
Bithlo, FL. – An 80-year-old woman died after being struck by a pickup truck while kneeling in a parking lot in Bithlo on Friday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 8:30 a.m. in the area of Cedarhurst Road and N 6th Street.
Authorities said a 2010 Ford F-150, operated by a 35-year-old man, was stopped facing westbound in a driveway at the Cedarhurst Mobile Home Village. The pickup truck driver began backing out of the driveway and struck the elderly woman, who was kneeling in the guest parking lot.
The unidentified woman was transported to AdventHealth East Hospital where she later died.
The Orlando man and his passenger, a 28-year-old man from Sanford, were unhurt. They remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
