Las Vegas, NV – A male pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle near Harry Reid Airport early Tuesday morning, according to Metro Police.
The auto-pedestrian collision occurred just before 5 a.m. near Las Vegas Boulevard and Sunset Road.
According to the police, an initial investigation revealed that a 2015 Nissan Altima was stopped at a red light northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard. The driver of the Altima then made a left turn when the arrow turned green.
A 53-year-old pedestrian began crossing Sunset Road at the same time and against the pedestrian traffic control signal and was struck by the Altima.
Emergency medical crews responded to the scene and transported the 53-year-old man to the UMC Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries.
No additional information is available.
The crash remains under investigation.
