Emily Ramirez, 11, Hit and Killed While Riding Scooter near Irvington Road and Camino De Oeste in Drexel Heights

Pima County, TX – A young Arizona girl who died after being struck by a pickup truck while riding a scooter in Drexel Heights has been identified as 11-year-old Emily Ramirez, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD).

The deadly accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, near Irvington Road and Camino De Oeste.

PCSD said Emily was riding a scooter when she was struck by a pickup truck. Emily was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene after the collision and cooperated with investigators.

Police said neither impairment nor speed was a factor in the incident.

The crash remains under investigation.
