More than $1 million reinvested into Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland communities is certainly a milestone worth celebrating, but for our Lerner & Rowe team, the achievement represents something even greater: years of meaningful partnerships, community trust, and a steadfast commitment to making a lasting difference.
That commitment was on full display during a special celebration we held on June 4th at Journeyman Distillery. Nonprofit partners, business leaders, chamber members, and community advocates gathered to recognize the collective impact made possible through collaboration and shared purpose.
“When we started reinvesting in Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland, it was never just about hitting a specific dollar amount; it was about ensuring our neighbors had a safety net,” shared founding attorney Glen Lerner. “This $1 million milestone isn’t just a number to us; it’s a reflection of thousands of lives changed. And after having looked around the room that night, I can confidently say we are just getting started.”
Enduring Community Partnerships
Two of our most cherished partnerships are with Humane Indiana and Opportunity Enterprises. Today, we proudly support Humane Indiana with $25,000 annually to provide emergency care, shelter, and food for vulnerable local animals.
Similarly, our $15,000 annual commitment to Opportunity Enterprises helps expand accessible housing, job training, and life skills for individuals of all abilities throughout Northwest Indiana. These long-standing relationships exemplify our core belief: lasting change is built through sustained investment, not one-time contributions.
Donations, Volunteer Hours, and Meaningful Connections
Our local impact extends far beyond financial support. Through active volunteerism, board service, and community leadership, our outreach team remains deeply connected to the causes we support.
“What made the celebration at Journeyman Distillery so incredibly special wasn’t just the financial milestone, but the people in the room,” noted Arianna Hensley, Lerner & Rowe’s Community Outreach Director. “Every dollar and every volunteer hour represents a real connection we’ve made with our partners. We aren’t just funding these causes; we are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with them.”
