Police said a 14 year old boy was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk Saturday night near 35th and Dunlap Avenues in Phoenix.
Phoenix, AZ.- A 14 year old boy was seriously injured following a pedestrian accident Saturday night in Phoenix.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. on August 22 near the intersection of 35th Avenue and Dunlap Avenue.
Emergency crews responded to the area after receiving reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Witnesses said a vehicle driven by an unidentified man was traveling south on 35th Avenue in the curb lane when it struck the teenager.
Authorities said the 14 year old boy was walking in a crosswalk when the collision occurred.
The teenager suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The driver was not injured and remained at the scene following the accident.
Police said impairment does not appear to have contributed to the collision.
The driver was cited for traffic violations and released.
