Police said a 55 year old man was killed after being struck by two vehicles Sunday afternoon on Charleston Boulevard near Rancho Drive in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas, NV.- A pedestrian was killed following an accident involving two vehicles Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas.
The accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on August 23 on Charleston Boulevard west of South Tonopah Drive near Rancho Drive.
Authorities identified the pedestrian as 55 year old Vahan Nazarian.
Police said Nazarian was walking across Charleston Boulevard from the north side of the roadway toward the south side. He was not within a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.
A gray Honda Civic traveling west on Charleston Boulevard first struck Nazarian with the vehicle’s right front.
The impact caused Nazarian to fall to the roadway.
Authorities said a black BMW traveling behind the Honda swerved in an attempt to avoid the collision but struck Nazarian while he was on the roadway.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and performed life saving measures on the injured pedestrian.
Nazarian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additional information about the drivers involved in the collision has not been released.
