Troopers said a motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle in a hit and run accident Wednesday morning on Interstate 4 near Interstate 95 in Daytona Beach.
Daytona Beach, FL.- A motorcyclist was killed following a hit and run accident Wednesday morning on Interstate 4 in Daytona Beach, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on August 26 on eastbound Interstate 4 near the Interstate 95 interchange.
Troopers said the motorcycle and another vehicle were traveling east on Interstate 4 when the collision occurred.
The motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle following the impact and suffered fatal injuries.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, but the rider was pronounced dead.
Authorities said the driver of the other vehicle left the scene following the collision.
Troopers are working to identify the driver and vehicle involved in the fatal hit and run.
The accident affected traffic on eastbound Interstate 4 while emergency crews responded and investigators examined the scene.
Authorities have not released the identity of the motorcyclist who was killed.
