Authorities said three people were critically injured following a head on accident Friday afternoon on US Highway 101 in the Duckabush area near Brinnon.
Brinnon, WA.- Three people were critically injured following a two vehicle head on accident Friday afternoon near Brinnon.
The accident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on August 21 on US Highway 101 in the Duckabush area.
Emergency crews responded to the scene following reports of a head on collision involving two vehicles.
Three people suffered critical injuries in the accident and were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for advanced medical treatment.
A fourth person involved in the collision was evaluated by emergency personnel at the scene.
Authorities said the fourth person was later released to the Washington State Patrol and taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.
US Highway 101 was affected while emergency crews assisted those involved and investigators examined the accident scene.
The highway reopened to alternating traffic at approximately 4:22 p.m. Drivers were advised to use caution while traveling through the affected area.
Emergency crews also responded to a separate tree fall accident elsewhere in the district. One person injured in that separate incident was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, bringing the afternoon total to four critically injured people flown for treatment.
Additional information about the circumstances leading up to the head on collision has not been released.
