Jacksonville, FL.- Two people were killed following a two vehicle accident Wednesday morning on Interstate 10 in Jacksonville, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on August 26 on westbound Interstate 10 near U.S. 301.
Troopers said the collision involved a passenger vehicle and a semi truck.
According to preliminary information, the passenger vehicle was traveling west on Interstate 10 when it collided with the semi truck.
Two people inside the passenger vehicle suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead following the collision.
Emergency crews responded to the scene while troopers investigated the accident and worked to clear the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
The accident caused traffic delays on westbound Interstate 10 near U.S. 301 while authorities remained at the scene.
Authorities have not released the identities of the two people who were killed or additional information regarding injuries to the semi truck driver.
