Authorities said a motorcyclist suffered life threatening injuries following an accident Wednesday near 23rd Avenue and Grand Avenue in central Phoenix.
Phoenix, AZ.- A motorcyclist was critically injured following an accident Wednesday in central Phoenix.
The accident occurred on August 19 near the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Grand Avenue.
Emergency crews responded to the area following reports of a collision involving a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Traffic cameras showed debris scattered throughout the intersection following the accident. A motorcycle could also be seen lying in the roadway.
Grand Avenue near Encanto Boulevard was closed in both directions while emergency crews assisted the injured rider and investigators examined the accident scene.
The roadway remained closed for several hours before reopening shortly before 11:30 a.m.
Authorities have not released the identity or additional information regarding the condition of the injured motorcyclist.
