Authorities said a 49 year old Bloomington man was killed following a motorcycle accident Thursday evening at North Starnes Road and West Reeves Road near Ellettsville.
Ellettsville, IN.- A 49 year old man was killed following a two vehicle motorcycle accident Thursday evening in Monroe County, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred around 7:45 p.m. on August 20 at the intersection of North Starnes Road and West Reeves Road, just west of Ellettsville.
Authorities said the Bloomington man was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle south on North Starnes Road when the collision occurred.
At the same time, a Ford Fusion driven by a 16 year old girl from Spencer, Indiana, was traveling west on West Reeves Road.
The Harley Davidson and Ford Fusion collided at the intersection.
The 49 year old motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident.
Authorities have not released the identity of the motorcyclist who died.
The 16 year old driver of the Ford remained at the scene following the collision and is cooperating with investigators.
Additional information about the circumstances leading up to the collision has not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
